A fire at a garage in Mundford broke out last week resulting in local residents being evacuated and roads being closed due to fears that propane gas cylinders stored nearby may explode.
The A134 was closed and a 200 metre cordon was enforced at 8am on Friday after a fire broke out in a lorry that was parked next to a domestic garage.
Tim Lewis, station manager said: “With cylinders and vehicles involved it could have been quite a catalyst, so at the time our main concern was for the safety of the crews and the public.”
Firefighters from Norfolk and Suffolk attended the fire and controlled the situation quickly but remained at the scene for several hours.
Roads were re-opened and residents allowed to return to their homes shortly after.
