Fire Safety Training for Managers

The Fire Safety for Managers course has been designed for those who manage the fire safety for a company or premises.  This course discusses the legal requirements of a company under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, and the role of the Fire Safety Manager under the order, and gives them the necessary information, knowledge and training for them to be competent to manage the facility.

Each of our experienced instructors has a minimum of 10 years operational experience in one of the UK fire services.

Q. I have been assigned the role of Fire Safety Manager, does this mean I am the responsible person?

No.  The Fire Safety Manager role is a person who has been nominated to carry out the management of the fire safety arrangements for the premises.  The Responsible person can also be the Fire Safety Manager though.

The Order states that if you are an Employer, Business Owner or are in control of a premise you are considered in law to be the Responsible Person.  You cannot negate this responsibility by passing it to an employee!

Q. Where is the training held?

Fire Safety for Managers Training is held at our location in Rotherham, or we can provide the course at your premises.  The course is a full day from 9am to 5.30pm, lunch and refreshments are provided.  Please visit the Events Diary page for dates or call us now on 0845 0553 999 or through our contact page.  If the courses are held on our locations – after refreshments are provided.

The training is performed by a presentation including videos.  There is also a practical element to the course.  The presentation is followed by a comprehensive practical fire extinguisher handling program terminating with a “real” fire training exercise on a portable, environmentally friendly, propane fuelled fire trainer - each delegate will have the opportunity to extinguish different types and classes of fires. Contained within the course is an exercise in evacuating in real smoke conditions (simulated), building drawing strategy and evacuation training.

Each delegate will receive a certificate confirming the completion of training.
