First Aid Courses
Due to many requests from our customers, we have teamed up with a training partner to provide the following First Aid courses:
- Emergency First Aid for the Appointed Person
- Automated External Defibrillator User Course
- HSE First Aid at Work Course
- HSE First Aid at Work Re-qualification Course
These courses comply with Health and Safety Regulations to enable you to protect your staff in emergency situations with having the correctly trained staff to cope with different situations.
Emergency First Aid for the Appointed Person
Course Overview:
- The legal framework
- Basic Hygiene in First Aid Procedures
- Dealing with an unconscious casualty
- Dealing with a casualty during a seizure
- Administer CPR (cardio-pulmonary resuscitation)
- Effectively Treat Wounds & Bleeding and/or shock
- Dealing with a casualty who is choking
- Provide First Aid for Minor Injuries
Successful candidates will receive a HSE recognised certificate valid for 3 years

Automated External Defibrillator User Course
Course Overview:
- Basic Anatomy & Physiology of the Respiratory System
- Basic Anatomy & Physiology of the Circulatory System
- Basic Life Support
- The chain of survival and benefits of early defibrillation
- Resuscitation council guidelines on the use of AED’s
- Introduction to an AED and general safety guidelines
- Practice session
- Written and practical assessment
Successful candidates will receive a certificate of competence valid for 1 year

HSE First Aid at Work Course
Course Overview:
- How to act in the event of an emergency
- The legal framework of first aid provision at work
- The use of first aid equipment provided in the workplace
- The role of first aiders in emergency procedures
- CPR (cardio-pulmonary resuscitation)
- Unconscious casualty
- Wounds and bleeding
- Burns and scalds
- Injuries to bones, muscles and joints
- Shock
- Eye injuries
- Poisoning
- Dealing with a casualty overcome by gas and fumes
- Transportation of a casualty
- Recognise major and minor illnesses and take appropriate action
Successful candidates will receive a HSE recognised certificate valid for 3 years

HSE First Aid at Work Re-qualification Course
Course Objectives:
The course objectives for this course are the same as the HSE First Aid at work course. This course is the 3 years refresher for the above course.
HSE stipulates that you must provide a copy of all attendees original certificates or a letter from their previous training company sating the candidate successfully attended a First aid at Work course with expiry dates. Candidates can only attend this course if they fulfil the above criteria and the course date is within 3 months of the expiry or up to 28 days after the certificate expiry.
