Man found on fire in garden in County Durham
A 30 year old man is being treated for significant burns after he was found on fire in a garden, in the Woodhouse Close estate, in Bishop Auckland, at about 8pm on Sunday.
The injured man was taken to the Royal Victoria Infirmary, in Newcastle, where he is being treated for significant burns, A spokesman said
The full circumstances have yet to be determined and police are conducting a joint investigation with Durham and Darlington fire and rescue service.
“This is an extremely distressing incident for family, friends and people who have witnessed the incident and we’re doing everything we can to understand what happened.”
Officers have said they do not believe the wider public is at risk following the fire.
Fire fighter hurt at cannabis factory fire in Grangetown, Cardiff
Fire service says cannabis factory discovered at property in Grangetown area, after officers called to house fire.
A firefighter who suffered burns to his back and shoulders while tackling a blaze a South Wales house which was being used as a cannabis factory has been released from hospital.
The alarm was raised by a member of the public at 02:48 BST on Sunday morning.
At the height of the incident, more than 40 firefighters from stations in Cardiff and Barry fought the fire.
South Wales Fire and Recue said they discovered the cannabis factory on the upper floor of the house.
A fire service spokesperson said the house was well-alight when the fire officers arrived.
South Wales Police said neighbouring houses were also evacuated for a time.
Clare Road was closed for 12 hours but has now reopened to traffic.
The fire service said the fire fighter has been discharged from hospital.

Springfield house fire: Woman dead and five injured
A woman has died and five other people have been injured.
The woman, believed to be in her 50s, was confirmed dead at the scene. A teenage girl “sustained approximately 70% burns”, the ambulance service said.
A 26-year-old woman suffered burns, while three other people were also treated for injuries.
Up to 25 firefighters tackled the blaze, the fire is out but Cateswell Road has been cordoned off and remains closed to traffic.
The teenager with 70% burns was sedated at the scene and taken by ambulance to Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
Cateswell Road remains closed to traffic and the two houses either side were evacuated during the blaze.
An investigation into its cause is under way.

‘70% burns’ sustained by woman after cigarette sets sofa on fire
An elderly lady was rushed to hospital by air ambulance after she suffered serious burns after a cigarette set fire to her sofa.
Firefighters attended the incident in Castle Dene Court in Jewell Road in Bournemouth on the morning of Saturday 29th September.
The woman was rescued from the sheltered housing accommodation property and transferred to the Royal Bournemouth Hospital. She was later transferred to Salisbury District Hospital where there is a specialist burns facility.
Many other residents of the block were evacuated during the incident but were later allowed to return to their homes.
One neighbour who witnessed the incident said: “I heard the alarm and smelt the smoke. The firefighters were with her by the window where she was getting some air and she was taken out on a stretcher. I heard she had 70 per cent burns.”
A second witness, Len Jordan, aged 72 said: “I looked out my door because the fire alarm went off and saw the firemen. They asked us to get out. I had my dressing gown and slippers on outside.”
Fire crews from Redhill, Springbourne and Christchurch attended the incident and took around an hour to fully extinguish the fire. Furniture was destroyed in the fire and the property suffered a large amount of smoke damage.
A spokesperson for Dorset Fire and Rescue Service said: “Crews were called to alarms at a flat in Townsend where they found an elderly woman with burns and a fire in her lounge. The crews immediately and effectively dealt with the fire and rendered first aid to the occupant before medical attention was administered by the ambulance crew. The fire is believed to have started by smoking materials and we would like to remind people of the need to safely dispose of cigarettes and ensure they have working alarms.”
Man suffers severe burns in car fire
A man was seriously injured in a car fire in Cassanos on 18th March.
Firefighters from March attended the incident on Abbeygate Court, near Cassanos at around 9pm. On arrival they found a man with severe burns lying next to the car
A spokesman for the police said: “The man was taken to Hinchingbrooke Hospital with serious, but not life-threatening injuries, and has since been moved to a burns unit at a hospital in East Grinstead, Sussex. We are carrying out a joint investigation with the fire service and are keeping an open mind as to how the fire started. Details are still very sketchy and we are keen to speak to the man who was injured.”
It is not known what caused the fire and an investigation will be carried out.
