West Lothian takeaway blaze being treated as suspicious
A probe is underway into a fire which broke out in a West Lothian takeaway in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Police are now requesting that any witnesses who have any information relating to the blaze come forward and get in touch with them.
A spokesman for the Lothian and Borders Police said: “We are treating this fire as suspicious and we are keen to hear from anyone with information.”
Fire crews were called to the Four in One takeaway on West Main Street at 4am in the morning to put out the fire, which left the establishment with around £100,000 worth of damage as the shop was currently in the process of being refurbished.
Arson is becoming a growing issue to UK businesses and whether or not this particular incident is confirmed as such it is still imperative that company owners consider the risks associated with fire.
In order to do this it is important to ensure that your employees are sent on a fire training course, designed specifically for businesses in the food and catering industry. It is necessary to think about the fire safety procedures and equipment installed on the premises and a Fire Safety in Kitchens and Restaurants course will help you to do this effectively.
